IL CASENTINO:

Casentino is one of the four main valley of (the province of) Arezzo; it is located in the north and it covers an area of approximately 800 km².
The main tourist attractions are its natural environments and its geographical isolation. Surrounded by mountainous areas with relief that reach up to 1658 meters (like Monte Falco), covered by wide wooden areas, are largely included in the National Park of Casentino Forests. The tourism potential of the Casentino is that it is a perfect environmental representative historical example of central Italy.

FREE TIME:

  • There is the possibility of walking or riding lessons both just 15 minutes from our resort. Qualified instructors FISE will be there, waiting for you.
    The price reserved for our guests is € 15 per hour (please contact us for reservations).
  • For fishing lovers, “LAGO TRIPOLI”, just 10 minutes from our resort, is ideal to find peace, to relax and get lots of advice on the world of fishing, also for those who are not so expert.
  • Golf lovers will find, only 15 minutes from the resort, beautiful courses where they can spend a day in company and in total pace while enjoying the view of the valley and admiring the magnificent Castello di Poppi.

  • There is the possibility to organize excursions in Quad (on reservation) in the whole territory of the “PARCO DELLE FORESTE CASENTINESI”
  • In winter we offer the possibility to go hiking in the snow with snowshoes and, after the opening of the ski season in Campigna, in the heart of the park our forests, there is the possibility of skiing down from an altitude of 1680m for 1.2 km on well-groomed trails. Furthermore few years ago the new 5-km long oval track was open, to practice cross-country skiing, LE RONDINAIE.

SUGGESTED ITINERARIES:

  • Silence and Spirituality at “Santuario della Verna”, where St. Francis lived and received the estimmate.
  • Excursion to Monte Penna (we suggest our guest to bring trekking shoes) in the splendid Parco delle Foreste Casentinesi.
  • A must is the “Visit to the Camaldoli Monastery and the Hermitage”, the ancient monks' pharmacy where visitors can buy healthy herbal liqueurs and natural products for hygiene and the beauty of the body.
  • Rediscovering small villages, churches and castles. The Castle of the Counts Guidi in Poppi, perfectly preserved and home to the famous Rilliana Library. Poppi, together to Anghiari, is considered one of the most beautiful village in Italy.
  • Arezzo, with the old town, its magnificent cathedral, Piazza Grande, known for the feast of the Saracen and the antique shops (every first Saturday and Sunday of the month there is the antiques market), will not be easily unnoticed.
  • Do not forget to relax with healthy outlet shopping, the most convenient and supplied in Italy: The Mall e Outlet Village.
